MOWER OPERATOR
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Department: Facilities Management
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The
Mower Operator is charged with the responsibility of mowing grass on a
reactive or scheduled basis and in accordance with the university policy
and procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
At least a senior secondary school graduate with a minimum two years of full time work experience as a mower operator
Effective English - verbal and written communication
Other requirements, abilities for the position:
Working in shifts
Ability to productively work independently and as an overall integral staff team member.
Ability to work extended hours if and when required.

TRACTOR DRIVER
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Department: Facilities Management
JOB SUMMARY
The
Tractor Driver will drive gasoline or diesel powered tractor to move
materials, draw farm implements, tow trailers, pull out objects embedded
in ground, or pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy
material or equipment:
Fastens attachments, such as graders, plows,
and rollers, to tractor with hitch pins in line the policies and
procedures of the facilities management department.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Valid driving license.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age and possess and maintain a safe driving record.
Must also be available to work flexible hours.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.
Strength and hand-eye coordination are also necessary.
Must be in and maintain top physical form.
Strength, physical stamina, agility, and medical fitness.
Must be teachable.
Other requirements, abilities for the position:
Ability to drive a large tractor very quickly, but also do so in a safe manner that avoids accidents.
Ability to work in a team.
Ability to remain calm in dangerous or stressful situations.

INSECT & WEED FUMIGATOR
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Department: Facilities Management
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The
Insect & Weed Fumigator is charged with the responsibility of
spraying chemicals in University premises both indoors and outdoors to
eliminate and/ or control pest infestations.
Carry out vector
management by identifying breeding grounds and treating such places with
chemicals and biological agents to assist in Malaria control.
Conduct
schedules fumigation as per schedule of operations and of The duties
shall include but not limited to the Inspection of buildings to identify
pest causing damage and to determine treatment necessary, eliminates
wood termites, beetles, bees, insect, and other pests in University
premises both at main campus and residences.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum
of Secondary School Education and acceptable Experience & Training
which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this
position.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must also be available to work flexible hours.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to establish effective professional relationships with co-workers, and upper level staff.
Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports;
Have knowledge of safety practices and principles related to fumigation activities
Must possess strength, stamina and willingness to perform work in all weather conditions.

BRUSH-CUTTER
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Department: Facilities Management
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The
Brush-Cutter is charged with the responsibility of cutting trees,
brush, and other growth, using chain saw, ax, brush-hook, and other hand
tools to clear land for construction, forestry, logging or agriculture
activities, to remove infestation, or to control growth along utility,
highway, or railroad right-of-way. May pile brush for burning or load
onto trucks.
May feed brush into shredding or chipping machine in accordance with set standards of operation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Strong and healthy, because their work requires much reaching, bending, lifting, and walking.
There are no specific educational requirements for brush cutters
Most brush cutters get their training on the job
Willingness and ability to operate mechanical saws
Other requirements, abilities for the position:
Brush-Cutters usually work alone or in small crews.
Ability to work well with tools and machinery.
Working hours outdoors.
