LEAD PIPING ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION
Be
focal point/technical authority for piping and layout matters
throughout all phases of engineering design, construction, installation
and commissioning
Provide piping engineering input to other disciplines to assure design outputs are consistent
Be Project authority for review of design drawings, specifications, etc.
Where
required, act as Company representative (piping) to ensure design work
by contractors meets Project standard and relevant industry codes
Monitor performance of design contractors and suggest remedial actions related to piping design.
Assist Company resident and/or project engineers with the piping engineering aspects of Facilities design.
Assist construction and commissioning teams with field questions encountered during installation

QUALIFICATIONS
University
Engineering Degree (Mechanical) preferred but experience is more
important in this role so a lesser education standard can be accepted
Minimum twenty (20) years relevant experience with oil industry design and fabrication contractor
Must
have worked in as piping engineer/senior piping engineer for an
Operator and have been involved in both onshore and offshore projects
Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment
Must have worked in an expatriate situation for at least five (5) years.

Develop and maintain project cost estimate
Prepare man hour and cost reports compared with agreed budget and in line with Cost Breakdown Structure.
Update man hours and costs expended on periodic basis

progress data and in discussion with the Project Management Team,
prepare forecast of man hours and cost to complete engineering,
