Job Description
- Full-cycle petrophysical support for integrated exploration and production projects requiring the integration of well data (log and other) into seismic survey design, seismic processing, depth imaging, seismic analysis and interpretation
- Data room evaluations, including both quick-look and detailed assessments to rank opportunities and acreage
- Interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data, including the application of advanced interpretation techniques such as Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators, AVO, seismic inversion, pore pressure prediction
- Estimation of oil reserves in proven or prospective fields, and liaison with Reservoir Engineer and Production Specialist concerning drilling and production issues and methods
- Developing basin structural and stratigraphic frameworks, including the generation of key regional and block specific structural, isopach and paleogeographic maps
- Multi-well analysis for construction of physical properties models at the reservoir, field and prospect scale
- Rock property permutation modelling for statistical inversion and other advanced methods
- Basin analysis evaluations, integrating diverse data sets
- Play and prospect generation through application of a Petroleum Systems approach
- Conducting structural and stratigraphic geophysical mapping and applying seismic and sequence stratigraphic techniques
- Identifying, evaluating and recommending new exploration opportunities
- Preparing geophysical inputs and documentation in support of drilling and evaluation programs
- Providing geophysical inputs and analysis for probabilistic and deterministic hydrocarbon volumetric evaluations and prospect risking;
- Developing and recommending well locations and evaluation programs
- Developing and recommending appraisal programs and development programs to rapidly advance and bring discoveries on stream
- Planning seismic acquisition programs and supervising data processing with contractors
- Developing and implementing project plans and schedules in a timely manner
- Work with other team members to integrate petrophysics into complex projects
- Contributing to the creation of a culture of strong and effective team-work
- Providing career development advice to junior staff.
- B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent discipline with a minor or advanced courses in Petrophysics, applied Physics or Math.
- Master Degree in Geology will be a plus.
- 15 years experience with a strong Petrophysical/Geologistical background.
